New Companion!

Zach is Rockin' it in Tomar!
Hi Momma!!(:

im still here in TOMAR(: my new comps name is Elder Barnhart, and he's from Vermont, and so far he's pretty sick! my camera keeps freakin out and im afraid im gonna have to buy a new one soon:/ but so right now i dont have a picture of him. but i will next week!!

im sorry, once again i dont have very much time:( but we have another man marked for baptism!!(: his name is carlos and he's like 45 or 50. yesterday was his third time at church and he bore his testimony!!!! he's gonna be such a good member!(: he's gonna be baptized on the 26th of April!(:

and i really have no idea how the whole skype thing is gonna go down haha, but when i know more i'll let you know haha(:

but i have a question!!!! what's the recipe for Buttermilk Pancakes?! everybody here loves pancakes but no one can make them, so i figured since buttermilks are the freakin best i could just blow their minds haha(:

other than that the work still presses on!!(: ill have more stories next week about my new comp im sure haha(:

if you guys get a chance listen to the talk by Henry B. Erying called "Come Unto Christ", its really freakin good(:

i guess if i wanted the ward to know one thing... well it would be two things. One: Heavenly Father LOVES us; when we truly understand this, and i mean truly understand this, everything becomes so much easier. all our trials, all the challenges in life, questions we have about why certain things happen or why we are here or what we should do... when we know without a shadow of a doubt that God loves us more than we can possibly, humanly comprehend, we start to understand that everything that happens, is meant to help us grow in some way. One of the best scriptures for this is Romans 8:35-39. and number Two: that above all else, we need to know for ourselves. i see members here who get baptized because they love the missionaries or because others tell them its true, but when the challenges and trials come, if they dont have the foundation of a personal testimony, its hard to hold on. its so important, its vital, that each one of us know's for ourselves the truth. when we know for ourselves what is true, it doesn't matter what anyone else says, or what people try to make us think, or what happens to us or our loved ones... because when we know FOR OURSELVES what is true, we have something to hold on too. we have something that will never leave, never give up on us, never fade or erode or dissipate, we have an iron rod to stabalize us. but we have to be the ones holding on to that rod. we can't hold on to someone else who is holding on to the rod, it's not as strong. just as we can't survive off the testimony's of others alone. many times they help us build our own testimonies, just as others may help us to reach the rod. but the most important part, is that we grab the rod for ourselves.

haha, sorry, got a little carried away there(: and now i really gotta run, but i love all you guys so much and ill see you all on mother's day!! ps - invite like brandon over and holly and colton so i can see them too pretty please!!(:

love love love
Elder Dayton
this is the district meeting we had last tuesday, and was the last one before this transfer and we all got split up. all these kids are so freakin rad.

check this thing out!! i call it a Gyspy Dream (just because every night gypys go around with a wheelbarrow collecting crap, and i can imagine that they would love to have one of these)

this is a baptism we had like a week or two ago. the elders from the town next to us baptized her, but they use our font cause they dont have one.
the names go like this (starting left and going right) Hartley, Beckstrand, Eddington, O'Malley, Sebastian.

A True American!

We are ALL enlisted 'till the conflict is over!!

hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey(:

im running out of intros haha(; ANYWAYS......... wasabi?! this past weeks been pretty sweet!! but for some reason right now its not looking like its gonna let me send pictures which sucks:/ hahaha, i bought a big American flag that now proudly hangs over my bed, and every morning i get up and say the Pledge of Allegiance and sing the National Anthem hahaha, i love portugal, but there's no way im losing my American!!(: as you can imagine, good ole British O'Malley sure loves it hahaha(: i also bought a basketball, which is something i should've done a long time ago haha. even though im not that good, compared to all the short portugues people and O'Malley (once again because he's british) im like freakin Michael Jordan over here hahaha.

There's not too much to report about this week, but the rain stopped and the sun has come out which is freakin nice(: also this coming up Sunday is transfers, so im sure next monday ill have more to write about. Most likely ill be staying here in Tomar and O'Malley will be leaving, but we wont know until we know!!(:

we got to hear the Priesthood Session in English which rocked, and the saturday morning and sunday morning in Português, which was nice practice, but i feel asleep during the sunday morning one haha.

and i got some lame news, Daniel, the old man, isnt gonna get baptized as soon as we thought:/ a person has to come to church at least twice before baptism, and he hasnt been yet, and we haven't been able to get a hold of him in like a week and a half, so thats kinda of a bummer:/

sorry, i dont have much time today, we've actually got a basketball game in a little bit, woo-hoo!!!(: haha

i love you guys and i love getting all the pictures!! i had a dream the other night i was playing lacrosse, and then spent a while explaining lacrosse to O'Malley, and it made me realize how much i miss it, so make sure the boys are taking every advantage, cuz it goes by so fast!

sorry about the lame short letter, but i'll have more to write about next week!! love you all!!(:

We are ALL enlisted 'till the conflict is over!! and it ain't over yet!!
